When designing jewelry, I always seek the challenge of redesigning something perceived as commercial, obvious, and uncool. I thought it would be interesting to explore the subject of the heart in this collection, which began when I stumbled upon a multi-faceted heart opal in Tucson a couple of years again
Instantly, I envisioned a broken heart pieced together to form a beautiful new heart of its own. Beautiful opals often have pockets of what we call fire that can appear like a mosaic. In this case, the stone is re-pieced to look like a new creation. I love how imperfectly perfect it is.
